At Atlantic, we believe that the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offer an avenue for collective action and impact on the systemic inequalities and challenges facing our modern world. The SDGs were adopted in 2015, and include 17 goals on ending extreme poverty, advancing gender equality, water quality, zero hunger, decent work, and clean, affordable energy, among others.
As a company, we are committed to doing our part to ensure that we address these global challenges as such the company’s sustainability priorities address all 17 SDGs, with an emphasis on the SDGs that relate most closely to where we believe we can make the greatest impact. We are strongly focused in the areas of No poverty (SDG 1), Zero hunger (SDG 2), Good health and well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Gender equality (SDG 5), Responsible consumption and production (SDG 12) and Partnerships for the goals (SDG 17).
We have incorporated SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 12, and 17 in our training seminars that we offer at no cost in low income areas, and have incorporated SDG 5 in our hiring practices. Additionally, we have also integrated SDG 12 in our production and service delivery processes conducting impact assessments of our product use on the environment. We will continue to identify areas for improvement and will continue to seek partnerships for progress on the implementation of the SDGs.
